It started in 2006, I was pregnant with my first child, I had numerous problems throughout my pregnancy such as low platelets. Towards the end of my pregnancy I ran into more problems, I was in alot of pain ( non contractional) and vomitting continuously. Went to my doctors appointment the doctor insisted I was fine, and basically told me stress was causing it (he basically made me feel as if he thought I was making things up). I ended up in the hospital the next day had my daughter 12 hours later.

I thought for the most part the doctor was great, so insisted on going to him with my second pregnancy in 2009. This pregnancy was more complicated, again with teh low platelets, but, also started having water leakage—doctor insisted i was *peeing myself* this was at 25 weeks. I was getting very tired all of the time,I was in pain and could barely do a thing for my daughter. I ended up having to leave work on maternity leave due to this. I was admitted back to the hospital numerous times (they did the tape test on the leaking fluid—tape continuously turned blue but, since there were no thorny looking things in another test–they said it WAS NOT amniotic fluids and that i was again peeing myself.) This happened numerous times, until i was admitted to the hospital for 1 week, on bed rest because of beginning contractions and more leakage (they wanted to monitor). They put me on procardia for contractions, and after released i continued this procardia (once again i was released statin that i was merely peeing my self, and that the contractions could be ruled as braxton. I was confused becasue they still proceeded in putting me on procardia….Anyhow, I came home and was not even home 2 darn days before I walked up my stairs too pee, on my way down I had more wetness. I went back to the hospital immediately, started continuing on when contractions, and they started giving me magnesium along with steroid shots. They did ultrasounds my water level was low. The next day even lower….extremely low…..I was ambulanced 30 miles away to a hospital that dealt with premies, and delivered my son that day (10 weeks early) weighing just barely over 2 lbs 8.5 oz.

After this I went into another doctor for birth control. I wanted my tubes tied, because I figured that this was just mainly my body, and that if I had another it could be worse. The doctor talked to me and explained that my baby being born prematurely could of been avoided as there is a shot that can be administered starting at 20 weeks that will keep you from delivering preterm. He said since I had a previous preterm child, this shot should of occured. Especially with a sign of leaking fluids as your fluid level can rebuild.

Anyhow now my son is 10 months old and I have continued to have problems, as I have previously before children been diagnosed with endometriosis. I have been in constant pain since my son was born and have been to numerous doctors, unfortunately because I do not have insurance I can only go back to The above mentioned doctor that delivered my children for this help. I was referred back to him from a local doctor at our community health center, she referred for hysterectomy. His words to me at that doctors appointment were that “he doubted I was in that much pain, and besides, endometriosis is cured by pregnancy” of which is a TOTAL complete lie, as it can only render symptoms and that there are NO cures for endometriosis. Well he put me on antibiotics, did no further testing and sent me on my way. I had a check up appointment 2 weeks later pains were getting worse once again no laps no ultrasounds no xrays, cts…nothing he decided he wanted to put me on a stronger antibiotic. Told me I had PID..(unconfirmed) I denied the antibiotics, he stated that he would not perform a hysterectomy as their is nothing confirming that I have endometriosis, and that I would have to see another obgyn to do that laparoscopy because he no longer does them…..Not even 3 days later my pain was EVEN worse I mean literally unbearable, I could barely walk, could NOT bend over or even attempt to cough, laugh, or sneeze. I went in to the ER they did a CT and I had to have emergency surgery due to appendicitis.

Today I had my check up with the doctor that did the procedure. Found out that my endometriosis was TERRIBLE, and was not just scattered endometrium cells but, it was bleeding. I explained the problems to the surgeon he said he will send over all documentation etc, to the once again above mentioned doctor, and try to get this thing settled.

What should I do, others are telling me to file malpractice as the doctor clearly never wanted to listen about my problems, and always insisted that I was fine.

The appendicitis does not explain the entire pain. I have had these pains since my son was born 10 months ago, if it were all due to appendictis I would of been dead a long time ago. It is my endometriosis that is causing the pain but, he fells to acknowledge that even though other doctors have referred me directly to him to get it taken care of. Refusing his treatment was ONLY because I had continued to be on antibiotics because he kept diagnosing me with PID, which was innaccurate. Besides this after I refused the antibiotics he stated that he would contact me if my pap came back with bacteria and the antibiotics were necessary. Fact is that he failed to do what other doctors have done for me, and that is show me that they care, and try to diagnose my problems, he never even attempted to find a problem that was causing my pain just merely suspected it was PID. Funny thing my pap results came back good.
I had surgery a little over 2 weeks ago, and am still having the same constant pain. I am on tramadol, vicodin, and dervacet. I am a mother of 2 children plus 2 step, how can I continue to live on pain pills and take care of my children this is nonsense besides, I actually just talked to a lawyer here in town yesterday and they said they would take my cause on a constigency fee basis meaning if i win i pay, if i don’t i pay nothing. That shows me I have a good chance However, I am now looking for any advice on what I need to do on my behalf to get this done with, why do I need to look forward to occuring etc.
